You disgusting wine bibber!!

This is a quote from a Vincent Price film called "Theatre of Blood" which involves a rejected actor killing theatre critics using some rather Shakespearean modus operandi.

It is also something that my friend, Philip, used to quote a lot. It was his version of Withnail. However, I will never hear Philip call me a disgusting wine bibber any more.

He died of bowel cancer last week.

I hadn't heard from him or the friends we used to hang out with for a couple of years. Then, our mutual friend, Vince, got in touch with the bad news. Philip had cancer and the chemotherapy hadn't worked. I was fortunate to see Philip in his hospice shortly before he died. It was as if all his personality, as well as his body had been sucked away. He lay exhausted in his bed and it was clear that he had accepted that the end wasn't far off. I don't know if he managed to start reading any of the Dr Who books I'd taken along.

However, I'm glad that I had the chance to say goodbye to him.  Top  Philip quotes/memories. You may not understand all of these. Apologies. We were members of a profit share company called Moonlight Drive, so most of these are theatrical.

1, Seeing him Malvolio in Twelvth Night.
2, So we decided we'll do.... The Monkey's Paw!
3, Out! Out! Out! (Quoting some politician)
4, He was the only person to turn up to one of my birthday celebrations. (That seems to be the annual average!)
5, Ah Cannon and Ball, the yardstick of British comedy.
6, Ah, sherry!
7, Ah, time for a nice cup of TEA!
8, Watching Laurel and Hardy with him one New Years Eve.
9, For him, Tom Baker was the only Doctor.
And of course... the quote in my blog title.

RIP Philip. Miss you.

A sorrowful, but unrepentant wine bibbing, Bunyip.

Romeo and Juliet - Take 2!

Hello,

Finally, something good happening on the acting front. I didn't get cast in the play that Network decided to do when they couldn't get the rights to "Breaking the Code". However...

I've starting attending an Acting Gym every Saturday. It is a series of hard core acting workshops run by a professional director, Gavin MacAlinden culminating in a production of Romeo and Juliet. After weeks of full on movement, scene interpretation and iambic pentametre, I have been cast as Friar Laurence, (or as I'm calling her, Reverend Laurence)!!!

Biggest role I have ever had. A key character who drives the plot in Acts 3,4 and 5 and three, possibly four, monologues. Wow! Oh and its set in a night club! Still trying to decide what a priest is doing in a night club. I think I'm going to be a bit of an earth mother. (Her first monologue is all about herbs and plants.)

The only problem is that the performances may coincide with the birth of my niece/nephew in June. Am seeing my sister on Sunday for a Mother's Day lunch. She says that she is now as big as a house!

In the meantime, it is my favourite season. As I posted this time last year, Spring is finally springing:) Am loving the blossom on the trees down my road.

Have started using Pinterest, (mood board website. More visual then Twitter. If Twitter is words, then Pinterest is pictures.) Been repinning pix of Glastonbury and Silence of the Lambs so far. I think that it will be an interesting way of exploring my personality.

Till next time.

A happy Bunyip

Can a machine think?

I'm going to an audition for a play called "Breaking the Code" on Tuesday. Its about Alan Turing who invented digital computing and was persecuted and arrested for being gay. (Its set in the 1950's when being gay was still illegal.) Alan's big question was "Can a machine think for itself?"

I met a computer last year called Elizabeth who was programmed to have conversations with people and react to whatever they wanted to chat about. She came up with some strange answers!

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can get cast in the role of Alan Turing's mum! She's typical old school, embarrassing mum at first, then she's really supportive. Fingers crossed because I've had three auditions since my last blog post and didn't succeed in any of them. Hmph.

Christmas was mainly good. Had a nice time in a posh hotel in Hampshire with my Mum, stepdad and friend, TJ. Then went on to my sister's, then my Dad's. Got some cool pressies eg a Canadian yeti, a signed John Barrowman photo, some cocktail mixers and a handdrawn picture of an orangutang:)

Did some improvised filming down in Brighton for a comedy series on YouTube called Happy Feet. I played an underqualified Podiatrist and a sister with a dark secret. Twas fun especially the unicorns:)

As for the unrequited love, still hurting. Wish I could stop hurting and get over them. Easier said then done. Wish Valentines Day didn't exist.

Take care,

An Angry with Cupid Bunyip.

Wombling Merry Christmas

So, highlights of 2011, in no particular order....

1, Sitting on the a bench on the South Bank at 7am with 3 friends post Romeo and Juliet after show party. I was filming Charlie and Sacha's attempts to dance the Gay Gordon's while Gareth was trying to stay conscious after imbibing too many alcoholic beverages. And then we went to look for coffee....

2, Seeing a seal swimming in St Ives, Cornwall.

3, Arranging for K9 and the Tardis to be exhibited at TechWorld.

4, Visiting the Dr Who Experience, standing near the Peter Davison console room and being photographed in the Pandorica.

5, Being told that I'm going to be an Auntie.

6, Visiting the Statue of Liberty and walking over Brooklyn Bridge with TJ.

7, Bumping into Simon Pegg at Film Four Fright Fest in August.

8, Taking part in improvisation shows with the Short and Girlies down in Brighton.

9, Watching Sian Williams do coverage for the Royal Wedding outside Westminster Abbey on my way to work.

10, Boogying on down to loads of great indie tunes at Being Gloomy.

That is it for 2011. Its been an interesting and educational year on many levels. There have been some very enjoyable moments and moments of deep fustration and anger.

Here's to 2012. Olympics, the filming of Knock Knock, more decent acting roles and the arrival of my niece/nephew, here I come!

In the meantime, I wish whoever is reading this a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A festive Bunyip

Mega busy

I know, I know... Its been another long gap. Apologies. Here is what I've been up to over the past 4 months....

1, Major news. My sister is pregnant. I'm going to be an Auntie!!! Am very happy and excited for her. She reckons that her due date is May. Wouldn't it be cool if the baby arrived on my birthday:)

2, Played Masha in a Westminster players production of The Seagull. Twas great fun playing an alcoholic depressive. (Oh the irony!) The cast bonded really well together and we had a lovely, patient director, Katrina. Had to pretend to smoke. Bleargh. We had reasonable sized audiences with good feedback. I had strangers coming up to me in the green room congratulating me on my performance. Very nice:)

3, I've had to put Knock Knock on hold for the moment. The only time I had available to film in my chosen location for free was directly after the Seagull performances and on the day of the technical rehearsal for a Network theatre production. Er no. I want to do this properly eg find a producer to do all the logistic stuff. I'll resume this project in the new year.

4, I've got an audition for another London am dram group in a couple of weeks time. I went and saw my friends in 5/11 which is a play about the Gunpowder Plot. Was very impressed, so decided to join up. I've got to perform 2 contrasting monologues. I've picked a sneaky maid from The Rivals by Sheridan as the comedy and a really unpleasant therapist who tells it as she sees it for the modern piece. Just have to learn and rehearse them now.

5, Am in the throes of unrequited love (again.) I will protect the innocent and not name names. Have been here many times before and am waiting to get over it. Needless to say, it hurts for various reasons.:( Ho hum.

Take care,

A slightly unhappy Bunyip

Its been a while...

I know, I haven't written anything since June. Apologies. July was a very busy month.

To summarise....

1, Romeo and Juliet went really well. Great audiences and Mum said it was the best play she had seen at Network Theatre.

2, The Shakespeare play is on hold for a moment, while I write a short horror film instead. I'm currently on draft three. Its about a haunted theatre and its called Knock Knock. I'm hoping to get it screened at next year's Fright Fest. I do admit, I've gone the wrong way about getting support for my little project by approaching random people, requesting help and feedback and then not hearing back from them. Ho hum. However, I managed to corner one of them and he has made a couple of very useful suggestions which I am carrying forward.

3, I had a nice few days down in Cornwall with some fellow Dr Who fans. I really liked the arty vibe of St Ives. The Eden Project was enjoyable despite the rain. We also met up last weekend in Northampton and had a bit of a DVD fest. We watched Battlefield, the first episode of Revenge of the Cybermen and about half of Talons of Weng Chiang amongst others. The great thing about Northampton is that most of Talons was filmed there! We spent about an hour trying to identify Litefoot's house!

4, I helped my friend, James, celebrate his 30th birthday. Twas epic with seabreezes, dancing to apres-ski songs and (unwillingly) watching the England v Wales rugby praying for some fellow thespians to turn up!

5, And now for the bad news.... My depression is back:( Am seeing the doctor about it on Monday. Have been feeling on and off awful for about a week. Tired, tearful and not much of an appetite. Bugger.

Anyway, am off to another friend's birthday celebrations this evening. Hopefully, they will cheer me up a bit.

Take care,

An optimistic Bunyip

Deadly Reunion

About nine years ago, I went on a Dr Who acting holiday in the French Alps with five other Dr Who fans who wanted to learn more about acting. Since then, we've created a production company called Megropolis One, recorded numerous sci and fantasy audio plays and done a few films. Our film locations have included my flat, Tintagle, Berkhamstead Castle, the Albert Embankment and a certain police box outside Earls Court.

We hadn't seen each other in about five years so we had a reunion over this past weekend. Five out of six of us made it and we had a great time on Friday evening reminiscing about the past. On Saturday, four of us went to a Big Finish Day in Barking. (Big Finish are a production company who do Dr Who related audio plays with past Doctors and companions.) Fun was had. I've finally managed to get Sarah Sutton's autograph. She plays Nyssa, one of my favourite companions because she's intelligent and caring. Then I accidently bamboozled her with a question during a panel session about an audio play she recorded five years ago. No-one (myself included) could remember the character I was talking about. Ho hum.

I also met with two of my past directors. John Gillet directed me in a duologue showcase way back in 1997 and Miles Richardson directed our first Megropolis One film. I met Caroline Munroe. We talked about Dracula 1972 AD. I also met Colin Baker, the Sixth Doctor himself and we talked about Twitter. It was very easy to spend lots of money on filling gaps in my Big Finish collection. Finally, I said hello to Sophie Aldred, (Ace). She was one of the tutors on the French Alps acting holiday. Nick Briggs was a witty MC for the panel sessions and I got his autograph as well. I had a really good time, despite the rain. Happy days.

A smiling Bunyip.

Buffalo milk and treacle tart

I celebrated my 36th birthday this weekend by going to the Real Food Exhibition at Earl's Court. (36? How did that happen? I don't feel 36!)

I'm a little bit of a foodie. Any event that hands out free samples of cheese, chorizo, ham, honey, apple brandy, fudge, ice cream, proper olive oil, balsamic vinegar, chocolate and many other delicious goodies and I am there. I also patted a buffalo, saw what the inside of an egg looks like when the chick is still growing in there, burned my fingers on an asparugus yorkshire pudding cooked by a top chef and had a major coughing fit after trying some so-called "mild" Jamaican sauce. Needed emergancy ice cream after that.

I have some parts in Romeo and Juliet. YAY! I play Romeo's page, Balthazar, a Capulet servant who can't read and a nun! Only took three weeks of gently pestering the director who I hadn't heard back from! We did the dance for the ball scene last week. Lots of genteel bowing and curtseying and trying to walk backwards gracefully.

Right, I'm off home to consume the slice of treacle tart I bought at Earl's Court.

Take care,

A greedy Bunyip

Eating Knish

I had a great time in New York. Although there was a very cold wind throughout the week, there was also sunshine. I did lots of lounging watching the US cookery channel. (Well, I was on holiday!) I also did loads of wandering around Manhatten and plonking myself on park benches and posh hotel lobbies whenever I got tired. My wanderings included... 1, The Statue of Liberty - Well worth the long queue for security at the Ferry. Tall, green and beautiful. 2, The Ramble and Turtle Lake in Central Park - Didn't expect to see turtles! 3, Brooklyn Bridge - Long walk, but great views. Had to take pix of my friend, TJ, doing his Spiderman impression! 4, The "I'll have what she's having" deli from When Harry met Sally. You know the clip I mean:) 5, Didn't make it inside the Russian Tea Room this time, but took a picture of the banner. 6, The inside of St Patrick's Cathedral. Wow! 7, The knish deli from "Whatever Works". (A knish is a kind of potato dumpling. Whatever Works is a Woody Allen film.) 8, The holding area of a film set. (TJ is a background artist and he took me along. Lots of people waiting round, waving suits at the wardrobe team.) 9, The bar at the Carlyle Hotel. $7 for a Coca Cola! 10, The biggest toy story in the US! It has the piano from Big, huge cuddly toys, muppets and Chewbacca made from Lego. I was in heaven! Oh I love New York. I wish I had had a little more money on me to go shopping. Had to restrain myself in Barnes and Noble! Now I'm back in the office, waiting to hear if I've been cast in the Network production of Romeo and Juliet. A jet-lagged Bunyip.

C'mon Spring! Where are you?

Just as things were getting warmer last week in London, an arctic wind in London pushed the temperatures back down again to a couple of degrees above freezing during the day.

I love Spring with all the new greenary and snowdrops peeking up. Its the season of cute animals as well. Lambs, chicks and of course, bunnies:)

I'm off to New York in just under three weeks. Will probably go for a stroll in Central park at some point. Although it has more paths and rocks then London's parks, it also has its fair share of great statues. The best place is near the boating lake on the South East side of the park. If you want. you can sit on Hans Christian Anderson's knee as he reads a story or you can clamber over the Mad Hatter's Tea Party statue around the corner. I managed to get a picture of it between swampings of school kids and their parents.

I quite like statues. Not the military ones of stern Victorian generals as much. I studied A Level Classical Civilisations, so saw loads of Greek and Roman gods, goddesses and heroes. I love the dramatic poses eg Herecles throttling snakes as a baby ect... The more movement and drama the better. I also like Anthony Gormley's still figures and the Angel of the North is one of my favourites. Thanks to Dr Who and the Weeping Angels, statues have been given an extra frisson. Did it move? Did it? I'm sure it moved! DON'T BLINK!

Saving Money

Hi,

At the start of each month, I take a look at my bank balance and try to work out how much "spending" money I'll have for the month. So, I subtract payments like rent, phone bill, therapy payments (not cheap) ect. Then I take what is left and divide it by the number of days in the month and that's how much I have to spend per day. If I feel I'm going over this figure midway through the month, I do it again.

Yesterday, I worked out I've only got £6 per day spending money until I get paid on 28th February. (Sigh.) Bye bye lunches from Pret and Eat. Bye bye second latte after lunch. Must walk past book shops and the Virgin Megastore. Hello lots of pasta, veggies and other cheap things to cook in bulk, then reheat the next day. Hello making my own lunch. At least I'll be a little healthier. I do have savings, but I don't want to dip into them too much.

I wouldn't mind, but its not as if I've been spending my money left, right and centre! I've talked myself out of trips to the cinema to see Black Swan, Kings Speech and all the other films that are talked about every five minutes at the moment. I've saved some money not being in a show at the moment. (Don't like to miss after rehearsal drinkies. This is my version of a social life!) Yet I keep being invited to other acting group drinkies and drinkies for the short film Network theatre did last autumn which I really want to see.

I still need to buy this month's copy of Dr Who Monthly! Ho hum. Roll on pay day.

Year of the Rabbit

Its soon going to be the Chinese Year of the Rabbit. As I was born in a "rabbit" year, according the Chinese, this means that good fortune will come my way:) Lets hope that it does because I've just applied for a new job! Fingers are being crossed as I type. (Actually, its hard to type with crossed fingers. I'll recross them when I've finished.)

So, here is what I would like to do in New York when I visit there in seven weeks:

1, Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
2, Reacquaint myself with the Alice in Wonderland statue in Central Park.
3, Gaze at amazing artwork in the Met.
4, Walk over the Brooklyn bridge.
5, Visit the Russian Tea Rooms.
6, Find an independent book shop.
7, Have a wander around the East Side.
8, Go inside St Patrick's Cathedral
9, Learn more about New York's history eg Tenement Museum
10, Just wander around and see what I can find!

Looking forward to it:)

Take care all.

A Happy Bunyip

Hello 2011!

We're already 18 days into 2011 and quite a lot has happened. Where to start?

First of all, I did get some of what I wanted for Christmas. I received half a day in a spa, loads of chocolate and Baileys, and a Next voucher. I've also bought a new winter coat from Monsoon amongst other things. (Managed to get Stephen King's latest book from the library and read it.)

The headline news is I'm going to write a play this year!! Working title is Will woz here. Shakespeare comes back from the grave and helps a girl sort out her love life with six of his leading ladies. I've been reading a massive biography by Peter Ackroyd and finding out loads of stuff about Will that I didn't know before eg he played the Ghost of Hamlet's father. I'm also getting lots of odd ideas at odd moments eg our heroine works in a call centre and is contacted by one of the leading ladies via the phone. I've got an idea for another encounter on the tube. Its showing how Shakespeare's characters are relevant today.

Went to the playreading for "Road". Hmmmm. Not sure whether to audition or not. I can do a Northern accent, just not consistently. Would like to get one of the monologues if I do audition, not a small part. There is nothing worse then spending most of a play sat in the dressing room. I don't mind not having not many lines, but stage time is important or else why bother?

Oh and I was off work with an awful stomach bug the week before last. I won't go into details....

Its about nine weeks to my New York trip. Need to save more money. I'll share my list of places I want to visit and experiences I want to have in my next blog.

Take care,

A creative Bunyip

Bye bye 2010.

This is me, sat at my desk at work, on the last day of 2010. (Before you feel too sorry for me, my lovely boss has told me I can leave at lunchtime!) Sooooo, 2010. What happened? Lots of stuff.

1, My sister finally got married. Day of great joy, (and fustration down to clutch bag that wouldn't stay shut!)

2, Spent a week in New York, (Concrete jungle where dreams are maaaade of, there's nothing you can't do...) Ahem! Stood on the top of the Rockfeller Centre with my friend, TJ, saw the Tim Burton exhibition at MOMA and discovered the yumminess of BBQ ribs. Watch out Manhattan, I'm coming back!

3, Got Eli Roth and Charlaine Harris's autographs. (Not at the same time!)

4, Went and saw not one, but two great performances of Hair. One of them was with my Mum and I have now danced onstage in the West End:) I'm getting her the soundtrack for her birthday.

5, Discovered and worked with No Logo Productions who I did Mistaken for Strangers with. The character we created, Louise, had really good feedback and I enjoyed playing her. I'm hopefully doing the Buxton Fringe Festival with them next year.

6, With the help of my therapist, I found out a bit more about what makes me tick and how I deal with it.

7, Got upgraded to one of the suites at the St David's hotel in Cardiff. Wow! Wish I could have spent more time there.

Well, those were the highlights. Am not going to think about the lowlights. By the way, I don't do resolutions. I never keep them. I like to take the future as it comes. Hope that we all have the courage to grab great opportunities when they are close to us and to say no when we have to.

Happy New Year from me and my orangutang, Aphrodite who is sat on my desk today.

Love from a hopeful Bunyip. xx

Christmas Tidings

The snow did hit London after all leading to many travel delays with planes, Eurostar and some train services. Fingers crossed the 8.15 from Paddington to Bristol Parkway is running tomorrow. I don't really fancy spending Christmas on my own!

The panto in Brighton didn't go as well as planned. The snow prevented the majority of our audience from travelling to Brighton. We had a couple of actors who didn't know when to stop ad-libbing and get on with the plot. Ho hum. I've also discovered that I didn't get cast in the play I auditioned for a couple of weeks ago:( Oh well, means that I can audition for Road by Jim Cartwright in January.

Anyway, the pressies are wrapped, the cards are sent, I've nearly eaten all the chocolate in my Advent calender and I went to a great carol service at St Martins in the Fields. I really went for it singing O Come All ye Faithful and Hark the Herald Angels Sing and strained my voice slightly! (I love those carols.) I have about two hours left at work and then, as far as I'm concerned, it is officially Christmas!

This time tomorrow, (trains permitting), I'll be decorating the family Christmas tree. I'm looking forward to turkey, brandy sauce and Dr Who on the telly:)

Hope that anyone reading this has a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2011!

A Festive Bunyip.

Brrrrrrr!

Wow, its been cold, hasn't it? London seems to have escaped the worst of the snow. I saw what it was like in Newcastle when I went up for a much missed relative's funeral. We were driving along the Whitely Bay coast to the crematorum with snow flurrying around us and all we could see was white and grey everywhere.

The past six weeks have been insanely busy with a major work event and Sinders is a Gay rehearsal and press night. I've done about 75% of my Christmas shopping. Still need to get pressies for my Dad and my brother in law. Meanwhile, this all important question has been occupying my mind....

What do I want for Christmas? Erm.... (Discounting the obvious wishes that my family and friends remain healthy next year, world peace ect....)

1, Stephen Kings latest book.
2, Tickets to see as many of the Shakespeare plays at the Camden Roundhouse as possible.
3, A patchwork quilt to snuggle up in.
4, A part in Torchwood, Dr Who, True Blood, (yes, I know we're now in the realms of fantasy here. So what!)
5, A day at a spa.
6, A trip to San Francisco or New Orleans. (Fantasy again, I know. Can't really afford these.)
7, Chocolate!
8, Money to go mad in Monsoon with!
9, A way of getting out of the Civil Service straight into an acting or digital media career with minimum loss of income. (Just seen a flying pig zoom past!)
10, Some good sex would be nice. (Just seen a squadron of flying pigs fly past the window in formation!)

Anyway, something tells me I won't get all of these. So, I'll just settle for a happy, stress-free Christmas:)

Take care,

A wistful Bunyip x

Things that go bump in the night.

I had my sister staying over last weekend and we had a great Haloween.

We hit Camden Market on Sunday morning and totally failed to exercise any will power in the clothes shops. Liz bought a bleeding eyeballs print dress, (I kid you not) and a top hat. I bought a knitted hat and some snazzy playing card socks.

During the afternoon we had a bit of a horror film fest with Hellraiser II, Planet Terror and a couple of episodes of True Blood season two. Then we dressed up as a witch and a devil and set out to haunt the London streets.

The highlight of the weekend was going to see Ghost Stories at the Duke of Yorks Theatre.
www.ghoststoriestheshow.co.uk I won't say too much about it, but a lecture on the paranormal from a sceptical expert becomes terrifying. Thoroughly recommend it especially if you like anything by The League of Gentlemen. Reese Shearsmith will be in the lead role next week. Liz and I screamed a lot. Watch out for 3.45am and "Daddy's got meow meow"! Whoooooo!

Take care,

A hiding behind the sofa Bunyip.

Tweetastic

I've just had a great 10 minutes on Twitter finding fascinating people to follow. Its interesting the way you can find people on other people's follow lists. Ten tweeter I've recently I've found and decided to follow are:

Lady Gaga
P!nk
Beddie from Madness, (who has only just started on Twitter.)
Charlie Higson
Mark Gatiss
Reece Shearsmith (Yes, I'm a League of Gentlemen fan.)
Eli Roth
Daniel Stamm (who directed The Last Excorcism and who is promoting Saw 3d)
John Barrowman (and his alter ego, Captain Jack Harkness)
Miranda Hart

This is cool. I'm still at work and two of my senior managers are yelling at me to go home. To quote Simon...

"Bunyip, you should be out of here. You should not be in this building...."

Oh alright then.

Have a good weekend whoever is reading this, from...

Busy, busy, busy...

Work has been bonkers for the last couple of weeks with no sign of letting up. So has my social life. Just as I attend one play that one of my friends is in, I seem to get two more invitations via email or Facebook. Once upon a time, I would have made a supreme effort to go and see all these plays even if they were outside central London in places like Leytonstone or Hampton Wick. I would spread myself too thin and feel knackered.

Nowadays, I've realised that I can't be a total social butterfly and that occasionaly I need a night in. So I'll go and see friends in a play maybe once a year rather then two or three times if they get cast in more then one play. I also understand if they can't make it to see me in whatever plays I'm in.

Had a panto rehearsal down in Worthing on Sunday. The ugly sisters and the prince didn't turn up which was slightly worrying. However, the cast I did meet were great:)

Ta ta for now. I'd better resume work. TGIF!

Sunday, 19 September 2010

Did that week really happen?

Blimey. I've just had a week that's been in turn exciting, moving, very stressful and joyful. Not your usual 9-5. In fact I only made it to work on Friday.

After 13 years of engagement, 18 months of preparation and six trips to get dress fittings, my sister Liz and her fiance, Richard finally got married last Saturday. Am very happy for them:) They both looked gorgeous. Despite missing luggage, problems with cravats and buttons on the dresses, wasps at the reception and a handbag that wouldn't stay closed, a good day was had. It was wierd to see so many family members and friends from all over the country and world in the same room at the same time. We had Peter and Sue from Whitely Bay, Sara and Helen from Basildon, Dad who lives in the middle of Wales, Iona and Andrei from Bucharest and my friend TJ from New York!! It was great to see them all.

TJ and I returned to London on Sunday and we went to the London Movie Museum on the South Bank. (See previous blog entry.) Needless to say, we had a light sabre dual on the Star Wars set and there is a great picture of me using the force to levitate him:) Its now on disk, so I'll try to work out how to post it up on here. We met up with a friend of TJ's and visited an amazing graffitied tunnel near Waterloo. The walls are covered with art. At some point, idiots have scrawled over some of it, but there is still some imaginative work to be seen. Banksey has been there at one point.

Tuesday and Wednesday happened and I had a stomach bug. Blurgh. Not nice. Crikey, Immodium doesn't half knock me out. Dunno what caused it. TJ returned to New York on Wednesday afternoon. Was sorry to see him go despite his habit of falling asleep at odd moments.

Laid off coffee and dairy for a couple days and returned to work on Friday only to be reminded that I had last minute stuff to do for an event on Monday. Eeek! What a week. Some of it doesn't feel real.
